Abstract
Jigging coal preparation has a long history. It has been nearly 110 years since the advent of air-pulsed jigs. The pace of technological progress in jigging coal preparation is accelerating, but the situation where the theory of jigging lags behind practice has not fundamentally changed, and there is still no unified theory, remaining at the stage of various hypotheses. The operation of jigging coal preparation has not formed a generally accepted and unified operation technology that can achieve intelligence. In the face of increasing calls for improving product quality and coal preparation efficiency, some people believe that to improve efficiency and reduce the ash content of clean coal, it is necessary to implement heavy medium modification of jigging coal preparation plants. Therefore, the trend of jigging modification to heavy medium or adding heavy medium is very strong, with a tendency to completely replace or eliminate jigging coal preparation. If this trend continues to rise, it will cause immeasurable losses to the coal preparation industry. You see, the ones that have been built are not used, and the ones that don't exist still need to be modified or supplemented, but they are still not used, and they still need to be built. It is very necessary to conduct a summary study from the perspective of combining history and practical experience to find out whether the separation effect of jigging coal preparation can catch up with or even exceed heavy medium coal preparation. To this end, we intend to publish some opinions and discuss them with colleagues in the coal preparation industry, in order to contribute to the progress of coal preparation technology and improve the economic benefits of enterprises.
